Abstract:   Proposed Topics
  • What’s Industrie 4.0 really?
  • How will the industry production look like in the future?
  • Which developments will factories undergo in the future?
  • What’s the real benefit for Big Data analytics?
The main driver within the framework of integrated industry (Industrie 4.0) is holistic and integrated resource efficiency. The production of the future is based on flexible and highly qualified staff which will operate intelligently automated processes. The future of the digital factory is distributed, decentralized and smart – and this complex production will organize itself on the base of real time information and cyber-physical systems (CPS). Complexity in this environment must not only be handled, mastered and administered but downright be operated and actively managed. In the University of Stuttgart’s cooperative research campus ARENA2036 this notion is integrated into an innovative smart research factory for lightweight automotive production. Among others the presentation will focus on the following:

  • The Digital World of Today and Tomorrow
    Internet of Everything
  • Change of Product Architecture
The ability to manage complexity effectively becomes a key competitive advantage
  • The Next Step of Decentralization
From fractal factory to cyber-physical production system
  • Context Management Replaces Operational Planning
Smart Factory organizes its own operations in a decentralized way
  • Elements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Networking and computing power enables new design and optimization dimensions for added value systems
  • Digital Shadow of Production
Emulating models to ensure ”batch of one”
  • Challenges when Dealing with Big Data – Change of Perspective
  • The Application Center Industrie 4.0
    Industry-driven Research, Development and Demonstration
  • Security and Trust in ICT for Production
    Virtual Fort Knox
