David Pfander is a PhD student at the Institute for Parallel and Distributed Systems at the University of Stuttgart. His research interests include performance portability, auto-tuned algorithms and high-level abstractions for caching. He uses his HPC knowledge to develop faster algorithms for higher-dimensional problems, notably using the sparse grids method.
