Dr. Ondrej Jakl

Dr. Ondrej Jakl is a training manager at the recently established IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Since the middle of 2013, when the first IT4Innovations’ supercomputer started operation, the training team delivered about 20 local courses. In PRACE, Ondrej represents IT4Innovations (and Czech Republic) in the Work Package 4 (Training) and during the PRACE-3IP he was the leader of Training Events subtask, responsible for PRACE seasonal schools. He was the main coordinator of PRACE Summer School 2014 and PRACE Winter School 2015, both held in Ostrava, and co-organized also seasonal schools in 2012 in Poland and in 2014 in Austria. Ondrej is also a research worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sci. of the Czech Republic, where he works in the field of mathematical modelling in geosciences. He is engaged in the HPC study programme at the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava.
