Dr.-Ing. Ingo Wald

Dr.-Ing. Ingo Wald is a Senior Software Architect in Intel's Data Center Group, where he serves as Tech Lead for Intel's Software Defined Visualization and High-Fidelity Visualization activities (primarily around the open-source OSPRay, Embree, and OpenSWR projects). Ingo got a masters degree from Kaiserslautern University, and a PhD from Saarland University. After a Post-Doc at the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics he first served as a Research Professor at the SCI Institute, University of Utah (where he still holds an adjunct position), before eventually joining Intel, where he was active as both a researcher as well as a software architect. Ingo's research interests revolve around all aspects of high-quality and high-performance rendering and visualization, in particular if this involves large-scale data, ray tracing, parallel rendering, and/or novel hardware architectures.
