Prof. Shuyu Sun

Shuyu Sun directs the Computational Transport Phenomena Laboratory and co-directs the Center for Subsurface Imaging and Fluid Modeling at KAUST. He is jointly appointed in Earth Sciences and Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Computational Science. Before joining KAUST, he was a professor in Mathematical Sciences at Clemson. He obtained a PhD degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from UT Austin (2003) following a Doctor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University (1997). His research includes the modeling and simulation of flow and reactive transport in porous media, as well as the numerical analysis of the resulting algorithms.  He is certified by SPE for Petroleum Engineering is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
