Claudia Draxl is Einstein Professor at the Humbold-Universität zu Berlin, Germany. Her research interests cover theorectical concepts and methodology, the development of computer codes, and their application to answer questions related to a variety of materials and their properties. She is mainly dealing with all-electron full-potential methods of density-functional theory (DFT) and methods beyond, as implemented in the exciting package that is developed in the group. Actual research projects concern organic/inorganic hybrid structures, molecular switches on surfaces, thermoelectricity, semiconductor nanostructures, solar-cell materials, organic film-growth, and more. She is one of the founders of the Novel Materials Discovery (NOMAD) Repository, an open-access library of materials, and PI in the NOMAD Center of Excellence (http://nomad-coe.eu) with the aim of finding structure in and getting insight from in Big Data of materials science.
