Torsten Wilde

Torsten Wilde received his M.Sc. degree in “Parallel and Scientific computation” from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 2000, and a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in “Technische Informatik” from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany. He is currently working as a senior researcher scientist and research manager at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), Germany. He is responsible for LRZ’s research activities on energy efficient HPC data center design and operation. In this role, Torsten is working on methods of improving energy efficiency across the whole data center, ranging from data center infrastructure to application scheduling. He is also on the leadership team of the EE HPC WG, currently serving as the Workshop and Conferences Co-Chair. Torsten was the PI for the SIMOPEK project (www.simopek.de) which aimed to model, simulate, and optimize the chiller-less cooling infrastructure of the LRZ data center.
