Dr. Zeynep Akata

Dr. Zeynep Akata is an assistant professor in deep learning at Amsterdam Machine Learning Lab (AMLab) of the University of Amsterdam. In 2014-2017, she was a post-doctoral researcher in Computer Vision and Multimodal Learning group lead by Prof Bernt Schiele at Max Planck Institute for Informatics where she received Lise-Meitner Award for Excellent Women in Computer Science. She completed her PhD in 2014 at INRIA Grenoble supervised by Prof Cordelia Schmid. Her research interests include zero-shot learning, deep generative models for image synthesis and explanatory artificial intelligence.
