Dr. David Henty

Dr David Henty has been involved in almost all aspects of EPCC’s education and training activities since joining EPCC in 1995. Initially he developed and delivered training courses in support of the national Cray T3D and T3E services and the EU-funded TRACS research visitor programme. David has been overall Programme Director for the University's MSc in HPC since its inception in 2001, and is course organiser for two full MSc courses; the MSc is now financially self-sustaining with an intake of some 25 students per year. He is currently the Director of EPCC’s PRACE Advanced Training Centre which delivers around 35 HPC training-days annually to both academia and industry; he also runs the training programme for the UK national HPC supercomputer system, ARCHER, which comprises 72 days training days annually delivered both face-to-face and online. Most recently, David has taken charge of developing two credit-bearing postgraduate courses on HPC and Data Science to be delivered entirely online from the end of 2015.
