Dr. Christian Simmendinger

Senior HPC Consultant, T-Systems
 

Dr. Christian Simmendinger is working as a Senior HPC consultant for T-Systems - Solutions for Research. After studying physics he worked as a Ph.D.-student at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Stuttgart. As a research fellow in the area of numerical simulation he worked for the Insitute of Physics at the VU Amsterdam and the University of Carlos III in Madrid. In 2000 he joined debis Systemhaus, the service-organisation of DaimlerChrysler, which was later acquired by T-Systems. Dr. Christian Simmendinger has participated in several European and national research projects. He currently works as a task leader of the European Exa2ct FP7 project and also is the project leader of the (BMBF funded) GASPI project. Both projects aim at establishing a novel PGAS API (GASPI) for next-generation Exascale supercomputers. In 2013 – together with Rui Machado and Carsten Lojewski - he was awarded the Joseph-von-Fraunhofer Preis for his contributions to GASPI/GPI.
