Brian Chol Soo Standen

Head of Computational Bioscience, BASF
 

Brian Standen is an executive technologist who brings 20 years of experience in digital technology and innovation to developing technologies at the intersection of science, information and business. Over the course of his career, Brian implemented a wide variety of diverse initiatives ranging from HPCC to CRM to custom software. In his new role as Head of Scouting and Partnerships in the Digitalization in R&D department of BASF, Brian is responsible for building collaborations with academic institutions, early stage ventures and established companies to strengthen BASF’s digital capabilities, enabling the continuous advancement of science. Prior to his current role, Brian was the Head of Computational Biology for BASF Enzymes, LLC, Director of Information Systems and Technology for Verenium Corporation and an independent technology consultant. Brian received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and English from the University of Colorado at Boulder and he will receive his Master of Business Administration in December 2017 from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
