Università della Svizzera Italiana

Olaf Schenk is a full professor for high-performance computing and computational science at USI Lugano, Switzerland. His research interests are centered around the topic of multicore and manycore algorithms for computational science applications on emerging HPC architectures. Typically, his research group drives research towards extreme-scale computing in computational algorithms, application software, programming, and software tools. In these areas, he has published one book, five invited book chapters and more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference contributions.  He is on the editorial board of the SIAM Journal of Scientific Computing, and is the SIAM Program Director for the SIAM activity group on Supercomputing (2016/2017).  He serves regularly on program committees of international HPC conferences such as the SC, HiPC, or IPDPS conference.
