Developing a fully autonomous vehicle is one of the major technical challenges of our time. Besides solving the complex driving task as such, the question of how to validate an autonomous, ai-based system is a conjoint part of this equation needing to be solved. High-performance computing is likely to play a key role to resolve both. Starting with an overview of the system’s development cycle, this talk will explore the requirements and challenges of autonomous driving with respect to high-performance computing. This will include a particular a look at the backend infrastructure needed in order to ensure evolutionary learning and continuous validation of the autonomous systems. |
