Fujitsu has been developing server processors for many years such as GS processors for mainframe, SPARC processors for UNIX server, and SPARC processors for HPC. And in November 2017, Fujitsu unveiled the development of the processor named DLU (Deep Learning Unit) for AI. In this presentation, the development of Fujitsu's HPC processor will be looked back and the features and design concept of the newly developed DLU will be explained in contrast to the ones of Fujitsu’s HPC processors.
