DescriptionRecently, High Performance Computing (HPC) has been applied to data science, as well as machine
learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence. Special supercomputer system for AI, such as "AI
Bridging Cloud Infrastructure (ABCI)" with 37PF by AIST, Japan, is under construction. It is widely
recognized that the convergence and integration of Data Science and HPC at the exascale would be a
critical goal for the scientific community in both of academia and industry. This panel will present
various types of such activities in Asia, and will discuss on international and interdisciplinary
collaborations, and human resource development.
