Biography
Pedro Valero’s research experience is focused on parallel-scientific computing applied to numerous problems of research and industrial interest. His experience involves multiple areas such as, Linear Algebra, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Brain-Biomedical and Satellite Image processing, Distributed Database Systems, among others. In his current position at Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), he works on the analysis and implementation of numerical methods making use of new Programing Models. Also, he is part of the Human Brain Project team at BSC. In particular he is in charge of the acceleration of the simulation of the behavior Human Brain using NVIDIA GPUs. One of the results of this work was a technology transfer to NVIDIA, the gtsvInterleavedBatch routine of the cuSparse library. He have authored over 50 publications, including journal citation report (JCR) papers and peer-reviewed international conference papers.
