Biography
Mauricio Araya Polo is a computer scientist working for Shell International E&P Inc. He is currently leading efforts on diverse areas such as: Seismic Imaging/Modeling and Compressive Sensing/Machine Learning. He is also adjunct professor of the Computational and Applied Mathematics department at Rice University, where he teaches CAAM620. Previously, he worked for Repsol USA researching on near real-time visualization/computing and HPC for geophysical algorithms. Before that position, he worked at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center for the well-known Kaleidoscope project. He holds a PhD and MSc from UNSA-INRIA in France and Computer Engineer degree from University of Chile.
