Biography
Alan R. Bishop is the Principal Associate Director for Science, Technology, and Engineering at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He is a widely recognized leader in theory, modeling, and simulation for condensed matter, statistical physics, and nonlinear science. Throughout his career, he has made sustained contributions in the areas of nonlinear mathematics and applications, solitons, classical and quantum complexity, structural and magnetic phase transitions, collective excitations in organic, inorganic, and biological materials, and complex electronic and structural materials with strong spin-charge-lattice coupling, and complex networks.
