Alina Sîrbu is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at University of Pisa, and member of the Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining laboratory. She obtained her PhD in Computer Science from Dublin City University, Ireland, in 2011. Previously, she was Research Assistant at Bologna University, Visiting Assistant Professor at New York University Shanghai and Abu Dhabi, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Scientific Interchange in Turin. Her research interests are Complex Systems Modelling, Data Science and Machine Learning, applied to a variety of systems ranging from social to biological and technical.
