Sarp Oral is a Senior Research Scientist at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he is a member of the Technology Integration Group and the Team Lead for the File and Storage Systems projects. His research and development interests are parallel I/O and file system technologies, benchmarking, high-performance computing and networking, fault-tolerance.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.
