Dr. Rafael Mayo García is Senior Researcher at CIEMAT and earned his PhD in Physics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2004). He has been involved in many experiments in Bulgaria, Sweden and Ireland (funded, by the European Commission with a Marie Curie fellowship). He is author of several scientific articles published in international JCR referenced journals and more than 70 proceedings . He is project coordinator of 2 Spanish R&D IT initiatives and has been involved in several European and National projects working on ICT scientific developments (EGEE-III, EUFORIA, EFDA-ITM, Spanish e-Science Network) and even on managerial activities of international projects between Europe with Americas and Asia (EELA, EELA-2, EPIKH, GISELA, CHAIN, CHAIN-REDS, BETTY). He also has served to several institutions as evaluator for their competitive calls, European Commission included. Today, he is the RICAP (Red Iberoamericana de Computo de Altas Prestaciones, from Spanish) General Chair.
