Biography
Matthew L. Curry is a member of the Center for Computing Research at Sandia National Laboratories. He is primarily focused on next-generation storage system architecture and software, as well as more general system software concerns. He is also the president of the New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge. Since 1990, the Challenge has offered an annual program of guided project-based learning to high school (and recently, middle school) students throughout the state. Through their projects, students develop skills in programming, computational science, and organizing/presenting results. This program has yielded hundreds of entrants to high-tech careers within New Mexico and the broader STEM ecosystem. In particular, many students that have been through the Challenge have ultimately accepted positions within the United States Department of Energy National Laboratories.
