Sven Hammarling is a Senior Research Fellow in the Numerical Analysis Group at the University of Manchester. He previously held the position of Principal Consultant at NAG, with his primary responsibility having been the development and support of NAG’s Numerical Libraries. Sven has contributed to many development activities at NAG, but in particular numerical linear algebra, optimization, high performance computing, portable numerical software and associated standards.
Prior to NAG, Sven was a Principal Research Fellow at the National Physical Laboratory and before that
was a Senior Lecturer in Numerical Analysis at Middlesex University. Sven has written or co-authored a number of books, articles and technical reports, including co-authoring the Level 2 and Level 3 BLAS, LAPACK and ScaLAPACK.
