Thomas Sterling is the director for the Center for Research in Extreme Scale Technologies at Indiana University. Along with co-authors Matthew Anderson and Maciej Brodowicz, he recently published a graduate student textbook entitled "High Performance Computing: Modern Systems and Practices". He is widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of commodity clusters.
