Biography
Arghya Chatterjee is a graduate student (PhD.) at GATech, and working under the supervision of Prof, Vivek Sarkar. Arghya’s primary research interests include asynchronous programming models, performance modelling and runtime systems. Arghya has recently embarked on a research associate position at Oak Ridge National Lab and is working on optimizing legacy condensed matter physics applications using OpenMP, OpenACC and CUDA as a part of his thesis work. He is leading an effort with CNMS (Nano-science's group) at ORNL to design a shared memory version of the legacy codes with OpenMP / OpenACC / HPX and a distributed memory version with MPI+X (where X, can be OpenMP or other asynchronous shared memory programming models). Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Arghya completed his MS (Thesis Chair: Prof. Vivek Sarkar) in Computer Science from Rice University.
