Naoto Hayashi received his M.D. degree from the University of Tokyo in 1989 and his Ph.D. degree in 2000. He was a medical staff and an assistant professor at the Department of Radiology in the University of Tokyo Hospital from 1995 to 2000, and a lecturer from 2000 to 2005. He was a project associate professor and the chief of the Department of Computational Diagnostic Radiology and Preventive Medicine at the University of Tokyo Hospital from 2005 to 2015. He became a project professor and remains the chief of the department currently. His main field of research is the application of artificial intelligence to medical imaging.
