Can obtained his PhD under the supervision of Suhas Diggavi. He was a visiting student at EPFL for the summers of 2010 and 2012, an intern at Qualcomm Corporate R&D, San Diego, CA, for the summer of 2015, and an intern at Technicolor Research, Los Altos, CA for the summer of 2016. His broad interests include machine learning, optimization, distributed computing, information theory, and wireless networks.
