Sofia obtained her PhD in High Energy Physics at the University of Geneva working at the CDF experiment at Fermilab, USA. She then moved to the Israel Institute of Technology to work on the ATLAS Muon Spectrometer reconstruction software. In December 2013, she obtained the Marie-Heim Veogtlin fellowship from the Swiss National Fund to work at the IceCube neutrino experiment at the South Pole. In 2015 she joined CERN openlab and became a member of the GeantV development team.
