Peter Steinbach completed a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics in 2012 at the Technical University Dresden (Germany) on data of the Large Hadron Collider (CERN, Switzerland). He then switched fields to become an IT specialist and Scientific Software Engineer at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (as a client of Scionics Computer Innovation GmbH). His role focuses on adopting software to parallel cluster infrastructures, performance engineering, data science and machine learning consulting, automated workflows and GPGPUs.
