Biography
Jonathan Eastep is a Principal Engineer in the Data Center Group at Intel. He holds a doctorate from MIT in system runtime optimization technology. At Intel, he is Principal Investigator of the Global Extensible Open Power Manager, an open source runtime for scalable power and performance optimization across all compute nodes in an HPC job. Jonathan also leads research of new hardware and firmware features that improve power efficiency in upcoming Intel server processors for the data center. Many of these features have been adopted in upcoming Intel products. Jonathan has co-authored 25 patents, published numerous academic papers in computer architecture and runtime optimization, and presented keynote talks in community power research forums. Jonathan's research interests emphasize hardware-software codesign and holistic design from the system level down to the level of individual components on a node.
