Roland Leißa is a postdoctoral researcher at the Compiler Design Lab at Saarland University. His research interests include domain-specific languages, partial evaluation, compiler intermediate representations, and various forms of automatic parallelization - in particular vectorization. As target architectures he focuses on modern CPUs but also GPUs and more recently FPGAs and distributed systems. This work is used to accelerate applications from image processing, bioinformatics, and ray tracing.

Roland Leißa received his diploma degree in computer science from the University of Münster. In 2018 he received the PhD (Dr.-Ing.) from Saarland University on vectorization and domain-specific languages.
