Fangfang Xia is a Computer Scientist in the Data Science and Learning Division at Argonne National Laboratory. His research combines genomics, machine learning and high performance computing. His recent focus is on applying deep learning to biomedical problems including drug response prediction, brain injury prognosis and microbial genome annotation, with an interest in designing such scientific learning algorithms on neuromorphic hardware. With these activities, Fangfang is a major contributor to the development of patient-derived in silicon predictive models for the US National Cancer Institute and US Department of Energy collaboration for the Joint Design of Advanced Computing Solutions for Cancer. Fangfang received his PhD degree in computer science from the University of Chicago.
