Catherine Jones leads the Software Engineering Group Leader in the Software Infrastructure Division, Scientific Computing Department at STFC and is deputy Division Head. She is has a computing degree, is a member of the British Computer Society and a chartered Librarian.
She has a wide experience in providing information systems and services to the academic community, both within and external to STFC using her software engineering and information management expertise to deliver effective services to user communities. Her Group provide software engineering management tools and expertise; data management pipelines to STFC Facilities, supporting the experimental community and publication and data repositories to STFC staff. Her personal research interests are the digital curation of software & data, persistent identification of software; linking research outputs (data, publications and software) and career paths for Research Software Engineers.
