Shouhei Hanaoka graduated from the University of Tokyo Medical School in 2002. He received his Ph.D. degree in medical science from the University of Tokyo in 2010. He was a project researcher at the University of Tokyo Medical School from 2010 to 2011, a project assistant professor from 2011 to 2012, and an assistant professor from 2012 to 2017. He became a project lecturer in the University of Tokyo Hospital in 2017. He also received Ph.D. degree in engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 2016.
