Biography
Dr. Edgar A. Leon is a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His research focuses on
scientific applications' performance, scalability, and productivity for next-generation supercomputers. His work on scalable systems simulation, power-aware computing, networking, and system noise has
been recognized in the scientific community and has made an impact on the computer industry.
Prior to joining LLNL, Dr. Leon worked at IBM Research and Sandia National Laboratories. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of New Mexico. He is an avid contributor to the field of high performance computing and has received best paper awards at the IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing (Cluster), the ACM International Symposium on High-Performance Parallel and Distributed Computing (HPDC), and others.
