Biography
Eugene Dumitrescu is a research scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) working in the field of quantum information processing. Eugene received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Clemson University respectively. Prior to joining ORNL, Eugene was an Intelligence Community Postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Tennessee. Eugene has previously worked on transport signatures for symmetry protected Majorana zero modes in superconducting heterostructures, sensing with quantum codes, and tensor network algorithms. His current research is primarily
focused on hardware-level programming methods, entanglement generation, and verification for near-term quantum computers.
