Biography
Andreas Herten did his PhD in particle physics, where he researched in and developed parallel algorithms to reconstruct particle decays on GPUs. Since graduating, he moved to High Performance Computing at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC). He is involved in the NVIDIA Application Lab, in the scope of which he consults on and optimizes scientific applications which want to exploit the computing power of GPUs. He is responsible for GPU-related training courses at JSC and beyond (SC, GTC, GridKa School). He co-organizes GPU Hackathons in Germany.
