Melissa Romanus is pursuing a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at Rutgers University. Melissa's research focuses on extreme-scale data movement for scientific workflows, as well as power-aware scheduling on high-performance computing systems. She is also overly enthusiastic about debugging.

Melissa is currently working full-time as a graduate student intern in the Operations Technology Group (OTG) at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s National Energy Research Scientific Computing (NERSC) Center. Melissa's work at NERSC involves data analytics and visualization of an extremely large dataset comprised of IoT sensor data from building management, environmental, and data center instrumentation, as well as system log information and metrics.

Melissa received her BS in ECE from Tufts University in 2010 and her Master’s degree in ECE from Rutgers in 2014. She is also passionate about diversity & inclusion in STEM, as well as youth outreach activities.
