ISC AWARDS

ISC High Performance features a number of prestigious awards that recognize research excellence in high performance computing.

 

RESEARCH PAPER AWARD

The following award was given to one outstanding research paper submitted to the conference:

 

Hans Meuer AwardHANS MEUER AWARD

The Hans Meuer Award honors the most outstanding research paper submitted to the conference’s Research Papers Committee. This award has been introduced in the memory of the late Dr. Hans Meuer, general chair of the ISC conference from 1986 through 2014, and co-founder of the TOP500 project.

Hans Meuer Award WinnerThe paper selected as the winner of the Hans Meuer Award at ISC 2022 is:
Remote OpenMP Offloading authored by Johannes Doerfert (Argonne National Lab, USA) and Atmn Patel (Argonne National Lab, USA/University of Waterloo, Canada).

 

The winner of the Hans Meuer Award received a cash prize of 3,000 Euros and an award certificate.

 

RESEARCH POSTER AWARD

Springer, the international publisher specializing in science, technology and medicine, sponsored the call for research posters with the research poster award which recognizes three outstanding research posters as selected by members of the posters committee. The Research Poster Award includes a cash prize of 500 Euros (first place), 300 Euros (second place) and 200 Euros (third place).

The following Research Posters received the 2022 Award:

  • 1st Place: Nawras Alnaasan, Arpan Jain, Aamir Shafi, Hari Subramoni, Dhabaleswar K. Panda (The Ohio State University, USA)
    OMB-Py: Python Micro-Benchmarks for Evaluating Performance of MPI Libraries and Machine Learning Applications on HPC Systems

  • 2nd Place: Daichi Mukunoki, Toshiyuki Imamura (RIKEN Center for Computational Science), Katsuhisa Ozaki (Shibaura Institute of Technology), Takeshi Ogita (Tokyo Woman's Christian University), Japan
    A Fast Infinite Precision Inner Product using Ozaki Scheme and Dot2, and Its Application to Reproducible Conjugate Gradient Solvers

  • 3rd Place: Piotr Dziekan, Piotr Żmijewski (University of Warsaw, Poland)
    UWLCM - Eulerian-Lagrangian cloud model for heterogeneous computing clusters

The authors of the best posters have been invited to submit a paper to The International Journal “Supercomputing Frontiers and Innovations” (JSFI) as full papers or short communications (see details at http://superfri.org).
