FUTURE OF COMPUTE: HOW CUTTING-EDGE COMPUTING WILL CHANGE THE WAY WE DESIGN AIRCRAFT
For over a century, aviation has made our world a much more connected and accessible place, providing unprecedented economic opportunity, serving communities, and helping resolve crises.
High performance computing was among the key enablers of this evolution, which was supported by massive progress in the semiconductor industry over the last decades. Now, with Moore's Law coming to an end, even more computational power will be needed for aviation's transformation to a sustainable future.
This keynote will illustrate how high performance computing profoundly impacts aerospace. It will demonstrate Airbus’ activities in computing and its contribution in pushing the limits of today's capabilities. We also will take a look at future opportunities in this field, including quantum computing, to scale up the solutions we build.

Isabell Gradert is Vice President Central Research & Technology at Airbus. The Airbus Central Research & Technology organization is an active player within the Airbus innovation ecosystem in driving the delivery of groundbreaking technologies for the company’s current and next-generation product and services portfolio for commercial aircraft, helicopters, and spacecraft. This organization relies on the collective intelligence of its experienced scientists and experts as well as leading academic and scientific institutions. The scientific research of Central R&T focuses on sustainability, safety and security and operational excellence and therefore contributes its efforts to pioneering sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. Isabell is an aerospace engineer based in Bremen, Germany. With more than 14 years of experience at Airbus, she held several leading positions in engineering, research and technology.
