Reinventing HPC

The HPC Community Flocks To ISC 2018

ISC High Performance, formerly known as the International Supercomputing Conference, is excited to welcome 3,500 attendees to the 2018 conference in Frankfurt, Germany. Taking place from June 24-28, this is the HPC Event in Europe.

If you are a high performance computing (HPC) enthusiast, you ought to join in and contribute to the exchange of ideas and knowledge over a course of five days. The conference sessions, tutorials and workshops are built on the following topics:

  • Beyond Moore’s Law
  • Exascale Systems
  • Climate Change
  • Big Data Analytics
  • Cosmology and HPC
  • HPC in Medicine
  • Future Applications for Quantum Computers
  • What’s New with Cloud Computing for HPC?
  • Future Challenges for Programming Models and Languages
  • The Rise of Containerized HPC
  • Artificial Intelligence on HPC Platforms

Complementing the conference, around 150 exhibitors ranging from HPC vendors, research laboratories, European projects and international universities, will be exhibiting, thus making ISC High Performance the most significant HPC gathering for networking and doing business in Europe. Once again the Student Cluster Competition will take place on the exhibition floor, bringing 12 international graduate, undergraduate and high school student teams together.

Special tracks this year are the Machine Learning Day on June 27 and the Industrial Day on June 26. The Industrial Day program is specifically designed for attendees to learn how leading organizations drive change in their IT environment in order to address future business needs and how they measure progress toward IT optimization. The Machine Learning Day will be a meeting of the commercial and scientific HPC and machine learning communities.

Maria GironeAlso watch out for our keynote speakers – Maria Girone of CERN openlab, Keren Bergman of Columbia University and Thomas Sterling of Indiana University, who's returning keynote is the 15th in its series and will be given before the closing presentation of ISC 2018.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the TOP500 list Supercomputing experts Erich Strohmaier, Jack Dongarra and Horst Simon will talk about the development of the fastest supercomputers and direction of the HPC industry.

Adding diversity to the conference, the Women in HPC and the HPC in Asia groups will be holding their own exclusive meetings during the conference.
